Welcome
Welcome to the Dalavich Improvement Group website, we hope that you enjoy your visit here and you find this site useful.
Dalavich Village is situated on the banks of beautiful Loch Awe. The village was built by the Forestry Commission in 1952 as a logging village to house Forestry workers. The Village has grown to become self sustaining and is now heavily involved in the tourist industry.
The Forestry Commission embarked upon the holiday industry and built 44 holiday cabins north of the village on the shore of Loch Awe. The Forestry Commission ran it as a successful business until 2003 when the decision was made to sell off the cabin site. The cabin site was sold as a whole, but, subsequently the new owners sold each log cabin separately. This dramatically altered the way the Village Hall and Social Club operated.
The Dalavich Chalet Park attracts many visitors throughout the year who are attracted to the natural beauty of the surrounding area and of course Loch Awe itself.
